On Saturday, May 9th @3:00pm, the voices of the all-female ensemble, Sopranessence, will frolic through the hall of The United Baptist Church in Annandale, VA with melodies from “Children’s Corner” – a concert in support of the ACCA Child Development Center, a NAEYC-accredited nonprofit, community-based program, that has provided affordable, high-quality early education and child care for nearly 60 years.
Featuring songs that reflect on themes around children’s activities – play time (Dance Duet from Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hänsel & Gretel), story time (“Nursery Rhymes” by Pearl G. Curran), nap time (“Bubble Song” from Victor Herbert’s The Dream Girl), and even time-out (“I Want it Now” from Bricusse & Newley’s Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory) 🤭 – the program will re-awaken your inner child and help you see the world through their eyes!
Sopranessence has made a tradition of lifting their voices to help others by dedicating their Spring Concert to raising funds for a charity that is making a direct local impact. This year the ensemble has pledged 50% of ticket sales & 100% of raffle proceeds from “Children’s Corner” to the ACCA Child Development Center. Raffle prizes include tickets to performances at Creative Cauldron and Providence Players, as well as gift certificates to local restaurants.
With an unwavering commitment to each child’s present and future, ACCA Child Development Center teachers use best practices, involve STEAM, and implement The Creative Curriculum. The classroom settings are warm, inspiring, and dynamic, thus giving each child the opportunity to discover the world and truly flourish!
