ENGLISH National Opera was plunged deeper into trouble yesterday after it discovered that it was facing a strike by its staff.
Technicians, front-of-house and production staff voted unanimously to ballot for action after condemning a 2.77 per cent pay offer as ìhopelessly inadequateî. Productions in January would be halted by a strike of about 170 workers.
