Daniel Cat·n, Composer of Operas in Spanish, Dies at 62

Daniel Cat·n, a Mexican composer known for bringing Spanish-language operas into the international repertory, including an adaptation of the film “Il Postino” that starred Pl·cido Domingo in its world premiere last year, died last weekend in Austin, Tex. He was 62 and lived in South Pasadena, Calif.
