English Touring Opera are delighted to announce a new digital opera for children, The Firebird, in a co-production with Little Angel Theatre. It will premiere on ETO at Home on Wednesday 18th May, before being released to the Little Angel Theatre and Michael Rosen YouTube channels on Wednesday 1st June.
Based on the poem of the same name by Michael Rosen, The Firebird is a magical fable about a selfish prince, a menacing king, and the eponymous firebird – a mystical creature of Russian folklore. Filmed live at the Little Angel Theatre, the story is told through puppetry, opera singing and narration and suitable for children age 7+.
It is composed by Noah Mosley, directed by Valentina Ceschi and designed by Little Angel Theatre’s Ellie Mills.
