Angela Meade Wins Beverly Sills Artist Award

Greenough, Beverly Sill’s daughter, presented Meade the award on Monday at a
ceremony at the Metropolitan Opera.

The honor is given to young artists who have already appeared in featured
roles at the Met. She is singing Elvira in Verdi’s Ernani which
opens at the Met on Thursday. She is also expected to appear in this role when
this opera appears in theaters on February 25 as part of the series “Live at
the Met.” Previous award winners include Nathan Gunn, Joyce DiDonato and John
Relyea.
